We weren't even sure how often she visited, certainly not in the snow.

It's like squiz is in a trance whilst spinning the walnut, August 2019
There have been several squirrels around but mostly brief visits for water.
One poor male hasn't got the hang of the nutpot and seems to have been in a battle.
His once beautiful tail is half the length it should be. It appears to be broken or twisted,
so is very skittish and scared of everything. I call him Short tail.
Short Tail's tongue after a drink, 1st Sept
Short Tail has been visiting a bit more today
and finally found and ate a monkey nut left inside the magic snail pot.

Boingy didn't realise the Sparrowhawk was sitting on a nearby pot the next morning
she did a double take and dashed off, 4th Sept
Boingy rotates and caches a Brazil nut. She enjoys finding and hiding these more than eating.
If you've seen the Tufty page you'll know the silver foil ball inside the nutpot
is to pad out the space inside so the squirrels can reach the nuts.
Boingy unlike Tufty has not squirreled the foil ball away.
Short Tail's broken tail is visible here
He's trying to reach some food Boingy dropped
Boingy has been enjoying squiggling about inside the snail pot looking for food
Boingy has been so busy caching whole nuts but stops to take and eat our only acorn
26th September 2019
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I still believe Stripey Tail became Short Tail which is a sad loss of such a beautiful tail.
However Shorty has finally got used to the sound of the nutpot lid clanging shut
He used it properly for the first time today
Shorty has made huge progress and overcame his fear of sticking his head inside the lid
He's still nervous of being in confined spaces (after his tail inccident)
2nd October 2019
Boingy has been hanging out with a different male squirrel with a stunning tail
He also hasn't mastered the nutpot. Which is why he is inside the bird safety cage eating seeds
then Boingy finds the MN inside the hedgie pot and squirrels it away elsewhere!
The new male squiz
Boingy is so busy caching at the moment
She is becoming more used to us, and will come begging at the door for treats
She squeaks while chasing the new male away and prefers Shorty's company
Floppy Tail
Boingy's search for nuts took her to the bench
Interesting colourings on Floppy Tail, 27th Oct
OK so this is how smart Captain Boingy is
she has worked out I am seeing her through the garden "Hedgehog" camera
by either looking at it from the nutpot or coming over to the bench underneath it and looking up at it
and if I happen to see her I'll drop her a hazelnut out the window which she caches
[I only treat her this way not the boys]
28th Oct
they are getting through the food quickly, 29th Oct
