More delicious breakfast goodies continental style thanks to DeliFrance.

Not spoilt by the weird rude Middle Eastern muslim bloke who sat across the room behind me.
I had obviously offended him by being a woman in the same room as him LOL

After breakkie Groz went off to work whilst I travelled on the MRT to Clarke Quay station. Walked along the river to Brewerk and crossed the river and walked back the other side at Clark Quay taking in the funky colourful sites of the restaurants.

I walked all the way along the riverside to Raffles landing place taking in the details of the river festival boats alongside the bank and looked across the river to Boat Quay. I made my way down to the "Smile Bob" Merlion again.

We had decided to meet for lunch at the Durian shaped building "Esplanade" Theatre, so I walked over the bridge towards it.

Great view of the Singapore Flyer from here. They are also getting the atheletic stands ready for the Youth Olympic games for August 2010.

Nearly there, took quicker than expected to walk across.

Passing some young soldiers walking back towards the main Central business district where I'd come from.

Seating all the way along the bridge.

Once inside the Esplanade Theatre complex I cooled down with a chocolate icecream at  cafe "Chocz".

Groz finished his work and got a taxi and joined me for lunch a little while later. We found a lovely Japanese restaurant out the back of the theatre on the ground floor. We enjoyed teriyaki chicken rice set meal with miso soup and King prawn pakora with jasmine green tea.

Afterwards we went back inside the main complex and looked at the menu at "My Humble House" and decided to book a table as Groz had eaten here previously.

After that we got a taxi back to the hotel where Groz changed into more casual clothes. We then ventured out again in a taxi to the Singapore Flyer on the other side of the bay.

There were no queues for the Flyer and we had a pod all to ourselves. This is currently the largest/highest wheel in the world. I'm glad I didn't know about it breaking down the previous year.

Inside it is spacious and cooled by aircon. The staff swab every surface before you get in (swine flu precaution). During the half hour journey they monitor each pod incase anyone gets too nervous.

There is plenty of seating in the middle of each pod.

Lots of building work going on.

Great views on a clear day all around. We could see where our kiting friends fly mostly single line kites on the turfed roof of the Marina Barrage building.

back at the beginning, a great experience.

After collecting our souvenir photo, we got in a taxi and tried to get out at Arab Street but ended up in Little India (we didn't stay long it was so busy here). We finally walked our way back to Arab Street, which is a district rather than a road.

Found the mosque.

Made our weary way to the MRT Bugis station, got off at Dhoby Ghaut. We cooled off in the Mall where I showed Groz the cute little turtle/ terrapins covering chinese bridges in their tanks :)

The usual walk back towards the hotel stopping off for iced coffees and cake at Star Bucks.

Back at the hotel we changed, then went upstairs for happy hour in the club lounge.
Took the MRT to Clarke Quay and walked along the river to Boat Quay for the river festival.

We got a riverside table again at a Thai restaurant. Enjoyed Singapore slings and a very generous meal.
After a starter of satay chicken, Grozzie chose the red chicken curry with prawn noodles while I chose a green chicken curry with jasmine rice. There were orchids on each table. We enjoyed the festival boats floating by.

Wondered around after dinner, took in the entertainment along the river bank.

It was a fun and colourful evening :)
