Flavours of Singapore

We dined out with complete strangers in hawkers/food centres
where meals were 'cheap' yet plentiful and the atmosphere buzzing,
to the exotic and expensive restaurants in the city.
You can find the whole range here.

We didn't go hungry!

Nasi goreng and satay @ Outdoors, Orchard Road

Durian ice cream!

Late lunch at Rocky Master by Dhoby Ghaut MRT,
Orchard Road,
for massive hot chicken teriyaki club sandwiches like this

Fried prawn cakes and Thai satay starters
@ Seafood on the Pier, Boat Quay

Hong Kong noodles and honeyed pork

We had dim sum lunch in the Concorde food centre
before meeting our friends for kite flying @ East Coast Park

We were due to have the famous Chilli and peppered crab...

but decided to have the equally famous Peking Duck
on the 35th floor @ Pine Court, Meritus Mandarin

Exquisite dining, attention to detail, cute Jasmine tea pots

Fried Dim Sum and noodles @ Kofu food court,
Palawan Beach on Sentosa Island

Raffles Hotel

My second Singapore sling, but this time in the
Traditional setting in the Long Bar at Raffles :)
The best Singapore slings too!

Afterwards we had Indian curry and tandoori roti @ Boat Quay (no pics)

Bongo Lamb Burger @ Night Safari

I had traditional Chicken rice in the Concorde food centre

Hard earnt treat of cafe and caramel gateaux from
the very posh "Canele patisserie" cafe in Paragon Mall, Orchard road

...my first experience of proper Teppanyaki at Chijmes
I fell 'in luv' with Rocky (too much sake) ;)

tofu appetiser

salad

Rocky cooked the most succulent salmon with delicious sauce

...and teriyaki chicken amongst other scrumptious dishes

...then his teases of "spider and snake skin" :)

...hanging out with some locals, eating wonton & noodles
in China Town's Maxwell Road food Centre for lunch

Excellent ribs, BBQ chicken and beer selection at Brewerkz, Clarke Quay

....Cooling down with an ice cream in Cafe "Chocz" :)
Esplande Mall (Durian shaped building)

Couldn't help myself while waiting for Groz to finish his working week LOL

Rice, miso soup, prawn pakora, fried chicken and  pork skewers
Japanese lunch set in Esplande Theatre complex

Teriyaki chicken

Jasmine Green tea

Great staff, fantastic food @ Tomo

it's an excellent way to cool off with an iced cafe latte
from reliable Star Bucks near the hotel,
Great cakes and cheesecakes too!
(36 degrees C, unusually warm even for here!)

Thai food @ Boat Quay, during the River Festival :)

I love Thai green curry (chicken) with Jasmine rice
even if the coconut cream is fattening LOL

Thai Noodles with spicey prawns

Red Thai curry (chicken), sweeter than the green curry

Tastes of Singapore lunch @ Sentosa Island, Imbiah station
including Laksa, Tandoori, Terryaki chicken and satay beef
Singapore on a plate :)

'Posh' fusion restaurant My Humble House @ Esplande

We had the "Someone is singing behind the mountain" menu

They frown upon many things, one being NO photography inside
BUT everyone was, so.....

course # 3 - steamed cod

course 1 was gorgeous crispy crab meat cigar, and battered king prawn
course 2 was shark fin and crab meat soup (no photos)

course #4 sauteed beef tenderloin

course #5 crispy scallop roulade

course #6 spicy meat ball and noodle soup

Great setting over looking the river/harbour
with River festival fireworks reflecting on the buildings and river.

Slight downer overly attentive staff (brought the rich food too quickly)
other clientele not abiding the dress code or behaving in a respectable way
I expected more from such an expensive restaurant!

Happy Hour every night in the hotel Executive club lounge ;)
The sushi, samosas and dim sum were lovely and the staff delightful
I shall remember them for many years to come.
